George was born on March 5, 1958, in Philadelphia. His got his first German Shepherd
when he was 12 years old. A gift from his father, Von Anderhaus Black Beauty was a bi-colored bitch
bred by George “Bill” and Joan Anderson. George began showing her at matches
and discovered that handling came naturally.
On the weekends, George stayed with the Andersons, helping them with dogs. In 1974, the Andersons hired
the incomparable LaMar Kuhns to show their dogs. George, then 16, went to his first National Specialty,
in Texas, to help double. Then he began going to other shows for the same purpose.
“I wanted to be handler and I asked LaMar. He said ‘sure.’ He was a great teacher.”
George's accomplishments include multiple GVs and GVXs, in the U.S. and Canada, Select Champions,
Futurity and Maturity winners, and Champions to numerous to list here.
